Beech scoops a national award

Green landlord Beech Properties has won a national accolade for its innovation in eco-friendly properties and was named a winner of the pioneer award.

The awards, which recognise achievement in the field of energy efficiency, saw south Manchester-based Beech rewarded for pioneering the use of renewable technology in its student properties in the city.

Beech installed green technologies including Solar panels, air-source heat pumps, and under-floor heating, and has a portfolio of 80 Properties.

Founder Stephen Beech said: ‘it shows that small companies can compete with the big boys when it comes to being green businesses, and being recognised by the renewable energy association, the voice of the renewable industry in the UK, is just fantastic.
This is our second award in the month for our green lettings business and is a great encouragement for other landlords to install renewable technologies with the demand for energy-efficient rental properties increasing.

‘I’m committed to demonstrating that not only going green is good for the environment, it’s good for your finances too”.

He added; ‘My ultimate goal is for Beech Properties to be completely carbon neutral within two years’.

Beech won the best refurbishment award in last month’s Environment and Energy Awards.

Renewable Energy Awards chief executive Gaynor Hartnell said; ‘their awards are a tribute to innovation and excellence. The exceptional quality of all the shortlisted entries services to demonstrate the exacting standards, talent, and originality within this industry’.
